Anthony A Lewis

Lewis Tony Lewis assumed this place in October 2011, and his duties embody shaping and advancing Verizon’s public coverage initiatives for the wireline, wireless and enterprise business segments. He also directs Verizon’s philanthropic activities for the area. Prior to this place, Lewis served as Vice President of Wholesale Development and Operations for Verizon Wireless. He was also responsible for executing the open development initiative which included directing the pricing, activation, billing, distribution, gadget specification, testing, communications planning, and financial matters for the project. From 2004 to 2008, Lewis was the president of Verizon - Washington DC the place he had oversight for all of Verizon's operations, together with regulatory and monetary matters within the nation's capital. Previously Lewis held the title of Executive Director, Business Planning. His duties included the coordination and linkage of strategic policy and initiatives affecting Verizon’s b usiness items and its regulatory group. Lewis joined The Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Virginia, now Verizon Virginia in 1986 as a group supervisor in the operator companies division. He has held a succession of positions with growing responsibilities in product line administration, visitors engineering and planning, gross sales, regulatory, public coverage, and advertising. Lewis has served on numerous boards including, the Board of Trustees of Elizabeth City State University, the Board of Associates of Gallaudet University, the DC Workforce Investment Council, District of Columbia College Access Program (DC-CAP), the Washington Performing Arts Society, and the Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington. He presently serves on the boards of Fight for Children, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the corporate advisory board for the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School, the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the Federal City Council and is Chairman of the Wa shington DC Chamber of Commerce’s Governing Board. Lewis graduated from Elizabeth City State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business in 1986. He furthered his schooling at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business Leadership Development Program and the Johns Hopkins Leadership Development Program in 1996. He obtained his MBA from the Johns Hopkins University in 2000. 100 International Drive
